Carpe Diem

Welcome to 2023, which we are praying will be a year of hope, blessings, and progress!

As those of you who follow us on Facebook know, the second half of 2022 resulted in a dramatic slowdown in our progress. Our four Board members all had an eventful year. In our own household with our three awesome special needs adult 20-somethings in residence, life got more than reasonably (or unreasonably?) hectic.

But hey! It’s a new year, and we plan to cheerfully carpe the living daylight out of all the diems in 2023! We are getting back on track as we consider two prospective Board members, plan activities (please follow our Facebook page for announcements), and look at crowd-funding possibilities to help us move forward pending the approval of our 501(c)3 application, which we fondly thought would be submitted by now – but no. In the early days of Comintx last spring, we underwent training on nonprofit development and were strongly advised not to get discouraged as this process is historically the exact opposite of any definition of “fast”. Nonetheless, we were initially optimistic – but have since discovered that those much-more-experienced folks were, in fact, much more experienced (face palm much?). This is a slow process.

As usual, please pray for the process and follow us on Facebook. The Lord bless you and yours in the New Year and always!

Sincerely,

Karen Koiner
